Mixer's exhibition series, Printed, which has been focusing on editioned artworks since 2015, will present its eighth edition to the audience on May 30th.

Since 2012, Mixer has been collaborating with different disciplines with an inclusive approach that is open to new ideas, new voices, taking risks, and experimenting in the field of contemporary art. In this context, Mixer focuses on the art of print and examines the creative possibilities of print from a number of perspectives, presenting the outputs to the audience at the annual exhibition series - Printed. While revealing the newly produced works of print from Türkiye, the exhibition also focuses on unique and alternative print techniques. Mixer researches the techniques that have been used for ages and presents them to the audience around specific issues.

Celebrating its eighth edition, Printed’23 brings together the works of many artists, produced with alternative print techniques including digital print, serigraphy, risograph, and lithography. The exhibition features not only unique printing techniques but also alternative methods such as risograph and UV printing. While risograph printing allows us to see the surprises born from the unexpected spontaneity of the printing process, UV printing makes it possible to see works where uncalculated possibilities leave no room for different outputs. The unusual results displayed at the exhibition that are brought along by the technical dynamics of different printing methods blend with the creative perspective of the artists, giving way to this visual feast. This year, Printed, which used to span Mixer’s entire gallery space in previous editions, also spills into public space. Thanks to the collaboration with the bookstore “Frankeştayn Kitabevi,” Ayşe Erkmen’s limited-edition works at the exhibition meet book aficionados. Using paper bags sourced from various countries, Ayşe Erkmen creates her works with the intention of having them tour the city, carried by shoppers. She sets off with the idea of having the works tour around the city, carried by shoppers, and creates special works for “Frankeştayn Kitabevi” as part of the exhibition. With the assistance of book lovers, these artworks will travel across Istanbul, offering an alternative perspective on public space accessibility. Printed'23 provides an opportunity for a comprehensive exploration of the artists' connection with their prints during the creative process. The exhibition aims to transcend the technical aspects of printing and immerse the audience in a vibrant and dynamic journey within the designated space. To this end, the exhibition presents the audience with a selection of works by the participating artists, including digital sketches, speculative shapes, typographical images, humorous texts, and dynamic forms.

The exhibition Printed'23, which took place at Mixer from May 30 to July 8, provided an opportunity to explore the current form and development of printed and duplicable works created by artists from diverse generations and mediums.
